Route (Barcelona - The French Riviera)

Route for Tour Barcelona 2 The French Riviera

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

The trip departs Barcelona from Placa Catalunya at 20:00*. The meeting point is right outside the Hardrock Cafe. Please meet your trip leader 20 minutes prior to departure. Travel to The French Riviera is by private, luxury coach bus with DVD and A/C. We make one 45 minute stop. Estimated travel time is 8.5 hours**. Approximate arrival time is 4:30*. Upon arrival to The French Riviera, we will check into our accommodation.

Day 2

Friday we will wake up to Nice, the Cote d’Azur’s biggest city. After breakfast we will head to the center of town, where we will embark on
our walking tour of Nice. Led by a local guide, this two hour tour will help you get acquainted with this incredible city. After the walking tour you
have the day free to explore Nice. We recommend heading along the Promenade des Anglais, which has a large beach, shops and restaurants. Ascend Castle Hill, which is located near the beach for some incredible views of Nice and it’s blue ocean. Near the promenade you will find many of Nice’s museums in addition to the Cours Saleya flower market.

Friday night is free to kick back and dine at the hostel restaurant (with dishes around 6-7 Euro) and have a few cheap drinks (drinks starting at 1
Euro), or venture into the city center with your trip leader for dinner, and table dancing at Wayne’s Bar. End your night at one of the night clubs
on or near the Promenade de Anglais, especially High Club, a Bus2alps favorite.

Day 3

Saturday morning we will depart the hostel at 10:00 and travel by coach bus*** to the preserved medieval village of Eze. Drive time to Eze is approximate 45 minutes**. Situated high on the Grand Corniche (1,400 feet above sea level), the views from here are unparalleled. Filled with breathtaking views and artistic shops, Eze is an excellent way to spend the morning. The best viewpoint in town is located at the top, in the Exotic Gardens. Descend back to the base of the town where you can check out the Fragonard perfume shop, a famous perfume shop in Eze. Everyone in Bus2alps gets a 10% discount and a free guided tour of the shop.
We depart Eze at 13:30*, and descend to Monaco, the world’s second smallest sovereign state. Drive time to Monaco is approximately 30-45 minutes**.
Transportation: Transportation between Nice and Eze, Antibes, and Monaco are all included. Transportation is by way of our private bus or public transportation if necessary. Optional transportation to Cannes is by way of a 10-minute local train ride. Monaco is well known as the premiere getaway for multi-millionaires, featuring the world famous Monte Carlo Casino, with its opulent decorations and extravagant cars surround the main entrance. We will arrive in Monaco’s Old Town where you can find the Prince’s Palace of Monaco (formally the residence of Grace Kelly), the Monaco Cathedral, and the Oceanarium. The casino is located across the harbor, 30 minutes by foot, or a short bus ride on the same high speed road as the Grand Prix of Monaco. We will leave Monaco around 18:30*. Please inform your Bus2alps trip leader if you choose to remain and hit it big in the casino or party with celebrities. Your trip leader will then provide you with information on how to return to Nice.
Friday night is free to kick back and dine at the hostel restaurant (with dishes around 6-7 Euro) and have a few cheap drinks (drinks starting at 1 Euro), or venture into the city center for dinner and to head out some of the big clubs in Nice.

Day 4

Sunday morning we depart for the beautiful medieval coastal village of Antibes at 10:00* by way of our private coach bus. Drive time to Antibes is approximately 40 minutes**. Antibes is known for its 48 beaches, and the IYC, home to some of the world’s biggest Super yachts. Antibes is the perfect place to lounge on the beach, eat, especially in the open-air market, and pick up some original souvenirs, A short walk along the sea wall will connect you with the Picasso Museum and many of Antibes’ quaint shops. From Antibes, there will be an optional excursion to Cannes by way of the local train.
