Detailed Itinerary

The trip departs Barcelona from the Placa Catalunya outside the Hard Rock Cafe at 9:30*. Please meet your trip leader 20 minutes prior to departure. Travel is by private, luxury coach bus. Estimated travel time to Montserrat is 1.5 hours**. Approximate arrival time is 11:00* at the top of Montserrat.

 

Once in Montserrat, your Bus2alps Trip Leader will guide the way to local attractions, including the famous Monastery of Montserrat and the open air market where you can sample local cheeses. We recommend setting aside at least one hour to hike around the mountain and explore the surrounding beauty. Your Bus2alps Trip Leader will be more than happy to point you in the right direction. If hiking isn't your thing, you can take the funicular higher up the mountain. A single journey on the funicular costs 5.05 euro. At 14:00* we will depart Montserrat for the Freixenet Company.

 

At 15:00* there will be an included tour of Freixenent Winery, one of the world’s leading producers of sparking wine. The tour will last approximately 1.5 hours and will include a brief audiovisual introduction, visit to the production area, and a glass of the famous cava. 

 

The bus will depart from Freixenent shortly after 17:00*. We will return to Placa Catalunya in Barcelona at approximately 18:00*.
