Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

The trip meets in Amsterdam at the St. Christopher’s Amsterdam Hostel anytime after 16:00. Your Bus2alps guide will be at the hostel to help check you in between 16:00 and 22:00. Luggage storage will be available for those of you arriving before 16:00. For those of you arriving after 22:00, you can check in at the reception desk and pick up your Bus2alps Welcome Package there.


Detailed information regarding your trip, including directions from all of Amsterdam’s different airports to the accommodation, will be emailed to you in the days leading up to your departure. For those of you that wish to reserve a shuttle service from the airport to the hostel, this tour includes an optional transport add-on, available at the time of booking. Day 2

Friday morning after breakfast, we depart for Sandeman’s New Europe Walking Tour of Amsterdam which will take you to important sites like the Red Light District, and Anne Frank House, while covering historical and contemporary facts about Amsterdam, it’s people, and it’s liberal culture. The tour ends around 14:00 at which point a number of options are available to you. We’ll also be able to guide you to the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, “I Amsterdam” sign, and the Heineken Experience where you’ll get a discounted entry price with Bus2alps. If you need a munchie fix, we’ll show you an incredible pancake house built in an old carousel. You may also participate in another one of Sandeman’s New Europe tours like the Red Light District Tour, or the Famous Coffeeshops Tour. If you have any other requests your Bus2alps guide will be happy to help you, otherwise feel free to navigate the canals and explore the various districts, stores, pubs, restaurants, and coffee shops for the rest of the day. You may also wish to return to the comfort of St. Christopher’s Amsterdam which includes a full bar with great food options, and a smoking room. The night is free for you to explore the various bars, clubs, and shows of Amsterdam. If you would like to participate in the Amsterdam Leidseplein Pub Crawl at a discounted price, we will organize it and bring you to the meeting point at 20:00* and departing for a night of 6 bars and clubs.

Day 3

Saturday gives you the opportunity to continue to explore Amsterdam, and visit any or all of the sites which you may have missed on Friday. The museums, Anne Frank House, Heineken Experience, Red Light District Tour, and Famous Coffee shops Tour, are also available on Saturday. Bus2alps also recommends renting a bike for the day as a fun and exciting way to get around and see the city like a local. We’ll direct you to the best bike shop in the city, and you can also participate in New Europe’s City Bike Tour that starts at 14:00. If you’d like to catch a glimpse of the city from the waterways, check out one of the canal tours. The night is free again to explore more of Amsterdam’s diverse and provocative nightlife or join the Leidseplein Pub Crawl if you missed it the day before.

Day 4

Sunday morning the trip ends. Check out from the accommodation is TBA. Please contact us for information regarding an additional night’s stay.
