We’re showing everyone the west side that it is the best side. Jolly old London town, polish your crown jewels, and wash up the pint glasses... Paris get your skinny jeans, berets, and your Eiffel Tower ready. The never-ending parties of Barcelona better extend their hours, and the celebrities sunning on the beaches of the French Riviera better get their cameras ready. Check your pulse skydiving, alpine hikes, and all of the other adventures sports in Interlaken. Breweries of Munich start working overtime.  We are coming to make the West the Best, and prove to everyone that Western Europe is where the fun is at.

Please note: This trip departs London at 9am from the hostel St. Christopher’s Inn London Bridge and ends in Munich at Jaeger’s or Wombat’s Hostel. It is recommended to arrive one day early to the tour and book into St. Christopher’s Inn London Bridge.

Detailed Itinerary

Note: All transportation and accommodation is included in this tour. Please refer to each day to see what additional activities and meals are included and are option.

 

Day 1

This trip meets at London’s St. Christopher’s Inn - London Bridge. Departure time is 9am. Please meet your trip leader 20 minutes prior to departure. It is recommended to arrive in London the night prior and to stay at the accommodation. You trip leader will provide you with a short pre-departure information session. Afterwards, we will have a short tour of London’s major sites, including Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Parliament, and the Tower of London. We will then depart London by the high speed Eurostar train for Paris, arriving in Paris in the late afternoon. After down time at our accommodation, we will have our first night out, starting with a Welcome Dinner on the Seine River. We will cap off our first night at he Eiffel Tower (don’t forget your bottle of wine and beret) to watch the Eiffel Tower light up.

Day 2

After breakfast, we will depart at 10:00* with the Sandeman’s New Paris Walking Tour, which brings us to the Champs Elysee, Arc du Triumph, Notre Dame, Louvre, Musee d’Orsay, Bastille, plus much more. The tour is conducted in a humorous manner, but also brings together the story of Paris’ opulence, occupation by the German’s, and life since World War II. The tour lasts 3 hours. Afterwards, your trip leader will bring you to the Eiffel Tower. You will have time in the afternoon to check out the Louvre, Musee D’Orsay, hang out at the Eiffel Tower.

The night is yours to check out Paris’ bustling nightlife, scope sunset at Sacre Coure or relax at the hostel. We will organize a Pub Crawl with New Europe that meets at the hostel at 20:00*. If you choose to go to Sacre Coure, you can meet the Pub Crawl at the Blanche Metro stop at 20:45. The Pub Crawl explores the exotic Montemarte district of Paris, home to the Moulin Rouge. The Pub Crawl ends at one of Paris’ many famous night clubs.

Day 3

Today you have time to check the last of Paris off your list. You will also have plenty of time to visit the Louvre, Musee d’Orsay, climb the Eiffel Tower, Arc du Triompe, or head to the high end shopping. Today is the perfect day to take a trip out to Versailles Palace. Located about a 40 minute trip from our accommodation, Versailles is one of the most notable palace’s in the world. We will have a private tour to Versailles leaving today. This morning we will meet our private bus for the rest of the trip. You will be able to load your big luggage in the morning prior to your days events. We will depart Paris at approximately 8:00pm for Barcelona. Estimated travel time to Barcelona is 12 hours**.

Day 4

Upon arrival in Barcelona we will check into our accommodation. In the morning we will head out on an included tour of Barcelona with the ‘Green Bike Tours.’ ‘Green Bikes’ provide the best student tour of Barcelona, showing this amazing, sprawling city, in an entertaining and exciting way. The bike tour will cover Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, Casa Mila, Barcelonetta Beach, El Borne, Casa Battlo, and the world-famous Sagrada Familia. Designed by Antoni Gaudi, this iconic cathedral of Barcelona has been under construction for over 100 years. Entrance to the Sagrada Familia is included in your Bus2alps package. After the bike tour, your day is free to explore one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. Your trip leader will inform you about how you can visit Parc Guell, one of the many museums, or hang out in one of Barcelona’s famous districts. Later in the evening, we will head out to show you the VIP side of Barcelona’s famous nightlife. The night will consist of stops at Barcelona’s popular bars, ending with VIP entrance to one of its rocking night clubs.

Day 5

Today is free to explore the Catalan capital and the sites that you did not get to visit on the bike tour or just kick it on the beach. There will be an optional trip to Montjuic via cable car for the best views of the city. Afterwards, your trip leader will inform you as to how to get to Barcelona’s top sites, including Gaudi’s Parc Guel, the Picasso Museum, and the beach. Tonight we will eat in Catalan style with a traditional Catalan Cooking Class in the evening. The activity costs 20 euro and includes plenty of Paella, Spanish Tapas, and Sangria. Afterwards we will continue with the VIP Barcelona life with VIP entrance to Barcelona’s crazy nightlife.

Day 6

We will depart early in the morning for the French Riviera. Our day time bus trip will take us past the stunning Costa Brava and along the South of France. We will make a stop en route in Avignon. We will check into our accommodation when we arrive in Nice. Tonight will be free to head out for a seafood dinner on the main promenade of Nice or visit one of Nice’s crazy bars (including a Bus2alps favorite, Wayne’s, with live music and table dancing).

Day 7

Today we will wake up to the Cote d’Azur’s biggest city, Nice. We will embark on a short walking tour of the city to get you acquainted. After the walking tour you have the day free to explore Nice. If you are adventurous, you can join a sailing tour, scuba dive, windsurf, go canyoning, and more. We recommend heading along the Promenade des Anglais and hanging by the beach. The promenade has a large beach, shops and restaurants. Ascend Castle Hill, which is located near the beach for some incredible views of Nice and it’s blue ocean. Near the promenade you will find many of Nice’s museums in addition to the Cours Saleya flower market. Tonight is free to kick back and dine at the hostel restaurant and have a few cheap drinks or venture into the city center with your trip leader for dinner, and table dancing at Wayne’s Bar. End your night at one of the night clubs.

Day 8

Saturday morning we will depart Nice and take a short drive to the preserved medieval village of Eze. Situated high on the Grand Corniche (1,400 feet above sea level), the views from here are unparalleled. Filled with breathtaking views and artistic shops, Eze is an excellent way to spend the morning. The best viewpoint in town is located at the top, in the Exotic Gardens. Descend back to the base of the town where you can check out the Fragonard perfume shop, where Bus2alps guests get a free tour and discounts. After a couple hours in Eze we will head to Monaco, the world’s second smallest (and most wealthy) sovereign state. Monaco is well known as the premiere getaway for multi-millionaires, featuring the world famous Monte Carlo Casino, with its opulent decorations and extravagant cars surrounding the main entrance. We will arrive in Monaco’s Old Town where you can find the Prince’s Palace of Monaco (formerly the residence of Grace Kelly), the Monaco Cathedral, and the Oceanarium. The casino is located across the harbor, 30 minutes by foot, or a short bus ride on the same high speed road as the Grand Prix of Monaco. We will depart Monaco in the late afternoon for Interlaken. Tonight will be spent in the Alpine town of Interlaken.

Day 9 & 10

Your personal schedule for the weekend in Interlaken will be based on the activities you choose to do. Activities include Skydiving, Canyon Jumping, Glacial Bungy Jumpy, White-water rafting, Canyoning, Ice Climbing,Paragliding, Hang gliding, Ice Skating, Chocolate Shows, Hiking, plus loads, loads more. Some activities are weather permitting so plan accordingly. Consult your Bus2alps Trip Leader, Hostel Staff or City Guide for recommendations and weather updates. One of the nights we will have a traditional Swiss dinner down by the Alpine Lake Thun. The day chosen will be weather pending.

Day 11

Today we depart at 7:00* for Munich, making a quick drive through the small country of Lichtenstein. Lichtenstein is a small, mountainous land-locked country on the border of Switzerland and Germany. Afterwards we will continue onto Munich. Estimated arrival time in Munich is 2pm. After checking into our accommodation we will head off on an evening bike tour of the beautiful city of Munich.  The Munich Bike tour is the best way to see the entirety of Munich, and their International guides are some of the best in Europe. This easy, flat bike tour takes in ALL the historical and cultural landmarks in central Munich while providing a fantastic Bavarian history lesson. There will be a stop for dinner at The Chinese Tower in The English Garden and is finishes at the world renowned Hofbrauhaus. The bike tour lasts approximately 3.5 hours. After the bike tour, we can all take a trip to the world famous Hofbrauhaus for a night of crazy German beer hall fun.

Day 12

Saturday is free to explore Munich at your leisure, recovering from the previous night’s activities by lounging in one of Munich’s beautiful parks, or checking out sites like Dachau, the Deutches Museum Olympic Park, or BMW World. If you are interested in taking a day trip to Neuschwanstein Castle, we will offer a private tour and transfer at 9:00*. The trip includes will return to Munich at 18:00*. Cost is 40 Euro. Tonight we will have our farewell dinner at a traditional German beer hall owned by Germany’s most beloved brewer, Augustiner. Afterwards there will be an option excursion to the wondrous German nightlife.

Day 13

The tour ends in Munich at 10:00*. After an amazing time, there is no need to be sad. Hook up with us on one of our other summer tours to Europe’s great destination.
