Rome 2 Sperlonga Day Trip - Bus2alps

Rome 2 Sperlonga Day Trip

Take a day trip to Sperlonga to explore one of Italy's top-rated small towns and beaches. Immediately you’re welcomed by the whitewashed houses dating back to when Sperlonga was a beachside resort for the royal ancient Romans. Off the beaten path, with little tourism, it’s your chance to get away from the crowds of Rome and relax all day on the beach. Because the beaches are made of sand and not the typical Italian stones, Sperlonga's water has a unique color that gives the top beaches in the world a run for their money. Don’t want to sit all day on the beach? That’s fine too: for the history buffs there is The Grotta di Tiberio which can be found at the far end of Levante Beach. The remains of these Roman dwellings lay buried for centuries, and were only unearthed during the construction of the new coastal road, the Via Flacca, during the 1950's.
