This weekend also coincides with the epic Springfest 2016 and Abroadfest 2016. Springfest 2016 is one of Europe's best music festivals held at Opium, one of the hottest beach bars in Barcelona. During the day, you'll be entranced by this culturally diverse city overrun with works of art by Gaudi, Picasso, and Dali. Whether relaxing on the beach or getting caught up in the bustling city life, you'll never forget Barcelona's rare blend of modernity, old Spanish tradtion and Catalan roots.

This trip meets in Barcelona at the accommodation anytime after 16:00 on Thursday. The reception desk will direct you to your room and will provide you with suggestions if you wish to grab a bite to eat or start exploring. The rest of the group will be departing from Italy on Thursday night, so they will be travelling through the night and they will join you at the accommodation on Friday morning. Plan transportation accordingly. There are frequent shuttles from the airport to Placa Cataluyna in center city Barcelona.
Thursday night is Night 1 of Abroadfest. Your trip leader will direct you to the venues in time for the concerts to begin.
Friday morning, after some breakfast, we will meet in the hostel lobby and head out on an included walking tour of Barcelona. The walking tour will take us through the beautiful neighborhoods of Barcelona while covering a brief history of the city. After the tour, you can head to one of the most delicious sandwich shops in all of Spain, Bo de B. Next, your trip leader will accompany you to the Sagrada Familia, Antoni Gaudi’s famous church that has been under construction for hundreds of years. You can also explore Parc Güell, the Picasso museum, the beach, the gothic district, or just wander around and get lost in Europe’s most beautiful city.
Later in the evening, your trip leader will be available for dinner recommendations. You can taste-test typical Spanish dishes including tapas, paella, or tortilla at different restaurants throughout the city.
Friday night, your trip leader will direct you to the venues for Abroadfest. If you are not attending the festival, your trip leader will direct you to other options in Barcelona’s famous nightlife, including popular bars such as Los Chupitos or Oveja Negra, and ending at one of the rocking nightclubs.
At 10:30 Saturday morning, your trip leader will meet you in the hostel lobby to explore Antoni Gaudi’s famous park, Parc Güell. This gorgeous park is known as one of the largest architectural works in Europe, containing the best views in all of Barcelona. After, your trip leader will inform you how to get to Barcelona’s top sites, including Montjuic via cable car, the Picasso Museum, the beach and more.
Your trip leader will be available again for dinner recommendations.
Saturday night, your trip leader will again direct you to the venues for Abroadfest. If you are not attending the festival, your trip leader will provide suggestions for exploring more of Barcelona’s famous nightlife, including Le Cyrano and the beach clubs.
The tour ends Sunday morning. Please contact us if you choose to stay an additional night (additional charges will apply). Most flights depart Barcelona in the mid-afternoon and evening. If your flight is in the afternoon, be sure to check-out when the hostel requires.
