Meet us in the marble city of Split and enjoy optional trips like river rafting or boating along the coast!
Check into your centrally located accommodation in Split any time after 16:00 on Thursday afternoon. The weekend is then yours to choose from a variety of optional activities such as rafting down the emerald green Cetina River, zip lining in the Omiš valley, wandering through the marble ruins of Diocletian’s Palace, or sailing the Dalmatian Coast to discover the beautiful beaches at the Blue Lagoon. For the long weekend, take an optional day trip on Saturday to Dubrovnik, Croatia, to make the most of your time in the Balkan Peninsula. On the way home on Monday, make a pit stop to swim in the magnificent waterfalls of Krka National Park.

If you select the Meet Us There option, please plan to arrive at your accommodation by Thursday evening. Luggage storage will be available for those of you arriving before 16:00. You can check in at the reception desk. Detailed information regarding your trip, including directions from the airport(s) to the accommodation, will be emailed to you in the days leading up to your departure for Croatia.
Thursday evening there will be a complimentary welcome dinner at a neighboring restaurant. Reception will give you the details of the dinner upon your arrival at the accommodation. The rest of the group will be traveling by bus through the night and will be arriving Friday morning, so you will meet with your tour leader at breakfast on Friday morning.
After checking in with your Trip Leader at breakfast, you have all day to explore Split and its surrounding areas. Bus2alps will organize a river rafting trip on the Cetina River or a zip-lining activity through the lush valleys near Omiš. If you choose not to join any of the outdoor adventures, you can spend your day laying out on one of Split’s beaches, join an included walking tour of the Split city center, visit Diocletian's Palace, rent a bike and ride up Marjan Hill or take a day trip to local surrounding towns, like Omiš.
Friday night there will be an optional pub crawl (not included) to experience the best of Split’s bustling nightlife. Meet in the hostel reception area at the designated time set by your Trip Leader if you are interested in joining the pub crawl. If you choose not to join the pub crawl, the night is free to explore Split’s many restaurants and cafes or to stroll along the Riva waterfront.
There will be an optional day trip to Dubrovnik, Croatia, home of King's Landing from Game of Thrones, that will depart first thing in the morning (not included). Otherwise, the day is yours to do some shopping in Split and relax on the beach or for those interested, Bus2alps will organize a private island cruise that heads to the Blue Lagoon (not included). Meet in your hostel lobby Saturday morning before departing for the picturesque Blue Lagoon and enjoy an included lunch between snorkeling and sunbathing before heading to the quaint Bay of Maslinica where you are free to enjoy the pebble beaches, sip seaside cocktails or explore the natural beauty of the Adriatic. The full-day cruise will arrive back to Split around 6:30pm. The private island cruise will also be offered on Sunday.
If you stay in Split, you can spend your day laying out on one of Split’s beautiful beaches, join a tour of the Diocletian Palace, go to Marjan Hill or take a day trip to local surrounding towns. Saturday night your Trip Leader can provide you with recommendations for dinner or for checking out some of Split’s many great nightlife options.
There will be an optional day trip to Mostar, Bosnia that will depart first thing in the morning (not included). Otherwise, on Sunday you have all day to explore Split, the second largest city in Croatia and largest on the Dalmatian Coast. For those interested, Bus2alps will organize a private island cruise that heads to the Blue Lagoon (not included). Enjoy an included lunch between snorkeling and sunbathing before heading to the quaint Bay of Maslinica where you are free to enjoy the pebble beaches, sip seaside cocktails or explore the natural beauty of the Adriatic. The full-day cruise will arrive back to Split around 6:30pm.
Check out is at 10:00 am. If your flight departs later in the day, you will be able to store your luggage in the hostel by speaking with reception. Monday is a free day to visit any of the sites you missed over the weekend.
Rafting the Cetina River: Experience an adventurous ride down Croatia’s natural beauty, the Cetina River. Duck through lush overgrown trees expanding over the river and find yourself in large scenic surroundings as you rush down the Cetina. When we’re all finished and off the river, a traditional Croatian late lunch will be included featuring various entree options alongside local Croatian bread and a traditional dessert. Zip Lining: Get your adrenaline fix as you soar over Croatia’s stunning wilderness. Your views while experiencing 8 separate zip lines will include the breathtaking emerald green Cetina River winding through the valleys near Omiš. Approximate Cost: 69 EUR
Private Island Cruise: Spend your day sailing along the coastline on a private boat and visiting the Blue Lagoon. The cruise includes a grilled fish, veggie or chicken lunch with bread, wine and water. This exclusive boat tour will take you through the Blue Lagoon to Maslinica Bay where you can enjoy the afternoon on their pebble beaches. Approximate Cost: 59 EUR
Pub Crawl: Immerse yourself in a mix of Split’s top pubs, bars and clubs, while getting to know other fellow travelers! Approximate Cost: 20 EUR (paid in cash in person)
Day Trip to Dubrovnik: Spend Saturday wandering the Old Town of Dubrovnik and feel like you are in a scene from Game of Thrones first-hand! Approximate Cost: 45 EUR
