Travel to Munich is by private luxury coach with A/C, DVD, and toilet. We make one 45 minute stop. Upon arrival in Munich we will drop our luggage in the designated area for our group to leave our luggage until check-in early afternoon.

Day 2

Saturday is the busiest day at the Oktoberfest. It is recommended to arrive at the festival before 8:00 to ensure yourself a spot in the most popular tents. We will organize an early departure time for you accompany your guide to the festival. Consult you Bus2alps Trip Leader for which tents are the most popular. If you arrive late and are not able to enter the tents, it is recommended to grab a spot in the beer garden until they start allowing more people to enter the tent.

If you are looking to spend the day exploring Munich, we will have organized times for a private group with the famous Mike's Munich Bike Tour. One tour will depart in the morning and the other in the afternoon. Due to the festival, you will need to book this add-on with us prior to the tour. Bus2alps also suggests going to the Dachau Concentration Camp, Deutches Museum, BMW Museum, Olympic Park, and Munich Zoo if you did not go on Friday. If you are interested in a day trip to the Neuschwanstein Castle, Walt Disney’s inspiration for Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, it is possible to organize a private trip based on the group size. Your Trip Leader will send out information and details on this prior to the trip's departure.

The night is yours to explore. Most of the festival shuts down around 22:00. Munich has a diverse nightlife, so if you have the energy, it is worth checking out Munich’s bars and night clubs. If you find yourself rundown, most of the accommodations in Munich have good after-festival bars.

Day 3

Sunday is yours to explore Munich, or to head back for one more day of partying at the Theresienwiese. Check out is at 10:00. You can store your luggage in Jaeger’s luggage room, or lock them up in private lockers. Sunday at the festival is more subdued and obtaining entrance into the beer tents at the Oktoberfest is easier. There is enough time if you wake up early to check out any of Munich’s great museums. Your Bus2alps Trip Leaders will be organizing times early on Sunday morning to Dachau Concentration Camp. Entrance to Dachau is free as it is now a memorial site for those who lost their lives at the camp which was the first concentration camp in Germany.

Please meet in the hostel lobby at the designated departure time as detailed by your Trip Leader. We make one 45 minute stop for dinner.
