After breakfast, we will go to the meeting point for “Romeing Tours” which will take us on a walking tour throughout the eternal city. The tour makes a large circle of downtown Rome, visiting several sights, including the Colosseum, Pantheon, Jewish Ghetto, Mouth of Truth, Circus Maximus, Piazza Venezia, Roman Forum, and more! The tour is taken at an easy pace. We take a break mid tour where you are able to try some of Rome’s famous pizza, coffee, or gelato. We sum up the history, grandeur, power and influence of the world’s most famous and prolific empire. The tour covers the history of Rome from the conquering and pillaging of the rowdy Ancient Romans to the culture of the modern Italians.

The walking tour will end at the Colosseum and from there you will have the option of going inside and seeing this 2,000 year old amphitheater which was the largest structure built during the Roman empire. Once inside you are able to see first hand what is considered to be one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and Roman engineering, capable of seating 50,000 spectators, the Colosseum was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles.

At 8:00pm you have the option of joining the Romeing in the night walking tour. Called the eternal city by no mistake, what is beautiful in Rome in the day light becomes utterly magical after dusk. The group is walked to the best places seen at night while you will learn about hilarious scandal and stories from the Roman era. The tour includes Piazza Repubblica, Piazza Barberini, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Colonna, and Piazza Navona. After the tour, your Bus2alps guide will bring or point you in the right direction of cool pubs, clubs, restaurants or any other destination in the city.
