Hit the best spots in Italy and beautiful Croatia on this can't miss 10 day trip! First head south to Italy’s #1 beach destination. Boat around the Island of Capri, sip limoncello, and show off your new handmade sandals before breaking out your best dance moves in bustling downtown Sorrento. Bronze in Positano on the black sand beach and cruise along the coast. Finally, explore the ruins of Pompeii while admiring Mt. Vesuvius. Learn the art of talking with your hands, experience the delight of perfectly cooked pasta and live the passion of Renaissance Art in the home of one of history's most renowned empires. Then head across the Adriatic to untouched Croatia! Raft down the emerald green Cetina River, wander through the marble ruins of Diocletian’s Palace, and sail the Dalmatian Coast to discover secluded beaches and the island of Brač. Enjoy a dinner in neighboring port town Trogir, then on the way home make a pit stop to swim in the magnificent Krka waterfalls.

The trip departs Rome from Rome Termini Train Station at 20:00 on Thursday. Travel to the Amalfi Coast is by private, luxury coach bus with A/C, DVD, and bathroom. Upon arrival to the Amalfi Coast, we will immediately check into our accommodation.
Friday morning we depart for the port where we board the ferry and set sail for Capri. Upon arrival, we begin our private island tour. First stop is the Blue Grotto, where you will be transferred directly from our boat into small row boats that will bring you into the grotto (weather permitting). We will then continue around the island to check out more sights finishing at Marina Grande. Your trip leader will then walk you up to Capri Town. Our private transport will then bring us further up to Anacapri, the highest part of the island, where we will be welcomed with a free chocolate and limoncello tasting. You will have the remainder of the afternoon free. We suggest riding the chairlift to the top of Mt. Solaro to get a breathtaking 360 degree view of the island, grabbing a unique pair of custom made sandals, and having a scrumptious lunch at Bus2alps’ favorite place in Anacapri, Le Arcate. You also have the option of checking out the rest of the island or hanging out on the beach down by Marina Grande. The ferry departs from Marina Grande.
Friday night we organize an optional dinner in Sorrento city center, at an excellent restaurant with an extensive menu of local specialties at great prices. Afterwards we can head down to the English Inn, an outdoor beer garden with drinks specials for Bus2alps members.
Saturday morning we depart by private bus to Positano (included). This spectacular, scenic drive hugs the coastline before depositing us in the beachtown of Positano. Once in Positano, your Bus2alps trip leader will point out Vini e Panini for sandwiches, snacks, and drinks, in addition to other good places to eat. You will then have the entire day to relax on the balck sand beach, swim in the sparkling blue waters, and browse the many shops of Positano, known for ceramics and lace! It is also possible to rent a boat, kayaks, or stand-up paddle boards while there. From Positano you can venture further along the coast to the town of Amalfi. Our private bus will take you directly back to our accommodation.
Saturday night you have free to yourself to either kick back at one of the scenic viewpoints at your accommodation or head into Sorrento.
Sunday morning we depart for Pompeii. Bus2alps has an optional 1.5 hour guided tour of the ruins. The guides do an amazing job of painting an excellent picture of life in Pompeii during the Roman era in a fun and relatable way. The guided tour is highly recommended. You can also enter without a guide and see the ruins on your own. There will also be enough time for lunch. We suggest eating at our favorite spot, Pompeii Pizza, for a delicious brick oven cooked pizza at a great price. We depart Pompeii to return to the Rome.
We will start the evening with a ‘Welcome to Italy’ dinner in Rome. Afterwards we will head to Trastevere and Campo de Fiori, two of Rome’s most popular areas for nightlife.
We will start Monday at the Vatican Museum and St. Peter’s Basilica. Afterwards you will then have the chance to go see the Colosseum and the Roman Forum at an optional cost. Then you are free to further explore Rome, the capital of history’s most influential empire. Consult your Bus2alps trip leader for suggestions as to where to go and how to see it. Other sights in Rome include The Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Villa Borghese, and Piazza Navona.
That night you are free to explore the culinary treats Rome has to offer. Ask your Bus2alps Trip Leader for the best recommendations for food and nightlife depending on your taste!
On Tuesday you will have the afternoon to explore Rome. Check out some of the city's famous muesums or ask your Bus2alps trip leader for other suggestions. Tuesday morning is the time to check out any of the sites you missed on Monday.
In the evening we will depart Rome for Florence. After we check into our accommodation there will be an optional family-style dinner at our favorite restaurant Il Gatto e la Volpe. The dinner includes several courses of Tuscan specialties and pastas. Afterwards we will head to one of Florence’s best bars and show you the local nightlife.
In the morning your trip leader will give you a walking tour of Florence. We will see the Duomo, the historic Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi Gallery, Piazza Repubblica, Piazza Signoria, and more! We will finish the tour in Piazza Signoria and your trip leader will direct you to some delicious lunch spots. You will have the rest of the day free to explore more of Florence’s endless beauty. Today you will be able to check out Florence’s great museums and galleries, like the Uffizi, Bargello, Accademia (home of the David), Pitti Palace, Boboli Gardens, and more. Refer to your trip leader for recommendations and how to visit.
On Wednesday evening your trip leader will take you to Piazzale Michelangelo for sunset, which offers the best view of the city, and great gelato.
You will have all morning and afternoon to explore more of Florence's rich history. You can also head to Tuscany to visit the medieval city of Siena, push over the Leaning Tower of Pisa, visit Lucca, or other beautiful cities in the region.
At night the trip departs Florence from the Santa Maria Novella train station. The meeting point is in the International Ticketing Hall opposite tracks 8 and 9. Please meet your trip leader 20 minutes prior to departure. Make sure to bring your passport and have it with you on the bus, as we will be driving through border control. Travel to Croatia is by private luxury coach with A/C, DVD, and bathroom. We make one 45 minute stop. Upon arrival to Split, we will check into our accommodation.
Friday you have all day to explore Split and its surrounding areas. Bus2alps will organize a white-water rafting trip on the Cetina River, a sea-kayaking adventure, and rock climbing (not included). If you choose not to join any of the outdoor adventures, you can spend your day laying out on one of Split’s beaches, join a tour of the Split city center, visit the Diocletian Palace, rent a bike and ride up Marjan Hill, or take a day trip to local surrounding towns, like Omiš. You can hop on the local bus to the town of Omiš, which is located 25 kilometers from Split and is where the Cetina River meets the sea.
Friday night there will be an optional pub crawl (not included) to the best of Split’s bustling nightlife. Meet in the hostel reception at the designated time if you are interested in joining the pub crawl. If you choose not to join the pub crawl, the night is free to explore Split’s many restaurants, cafes, and pubs.
Saturday you have all day to explore the second largest city in Croatia and largest on the Dalmatian Coast. For those interested, Bus2alps will organize a private island cruise tour that heads to the island of Brač (not included). Meet in hostel reception at the designated time. Brač is known for its rolling hills, isolated bays, clear waters, and its views. Once on Brač you will have time to explore the medieval buildings and secluded winding alleys. You will climb back on board our private boat to enjoy lunch while we sail to our second stop where you will have a few hours to relax on a beach and swim before sailing home in the early evening.
If you stay in Split, you can spend your day laying out on one of Split’s beautiful beaches, join a tour of the Diocletian Palace, go to Marjan Hill, or take a day trip to local surrounding towns.
Saturday night there will be an optional trip to the island town of Trogir, situated thirty minutes from Split (included and requires minimum number of participants). Here there are many great dinner options. Your trip leader will provide you with recommendations of where to eat. We will return to Split after dinner. Afterwards, it is possible to check out one of Split’s many great nightlife options.
The trip ends on Sunday morning with a trip to the beautiful Krka waterfalls. You may store your luggage in the accommodation until departure. This package includes bus transporation back to Florence where you will return on Sunday night. Capri Ferry and Island Tour: We take a ferry to the island of Capri. Once we arrive to Capri, our private boats take us on tour around the island, stopping at the Blue Grotto (entrance not included), and other sites, including Marina Grande, Faraglione, White Grotto and Green Grotto.
Limoncello Tasting & Sandal Shop: There are two shops in Anacapri that produce amazing custom sandals and make their own Limoncello and lemon chocolates. Custom sandals start at €40.
Positano Transport: Our private bus transports you to Positano, a beautiful drive winding along the ocean.

Pompeii Transport: Pompeii is the most preserved ancient Roman civilization. You will be transported there by our private bus.
Walking Tours: The Roman Forum and historical centers of Florence are easily accessible on foot. Your walking tour will cover all major sites in these locations.
Welcome Dinner: Kick off your break in Italy and get to know your fellow travelers with a traditional chow down of fine Italian specialties.
Blue Grotto: Entrance into the site includes row boat ride into one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Europe to experience the fluorescent cave.
Positano Water Activities: It is possible to rent a boat, go sea kayaking, rent stand-up paddle boards, purchase floaties, and more while on Positano's beaches. Availability based on the season & weather.
Pompeii Guided Tour: Bus2alps has been using the same guides for years now. They give a fantastic account of the city and make it relatable.
Mt. Solaro: From Anacapri you can take a chairlift to the top of the island for the best views of the Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius.
Florence Family Style Dinner: Sit down in an old Tuscan building and feast on traditional Tuscan appetizers, several different pasta dishes, and unlimited wine and water.

Rafting the Cetina River: Experience an adventurous ride down Croatia’s natural beauty, the emerald green Cetina River. Duck through lush overgrown trees expanding over the river and find yourself in large scenic expanses as you rush down the Cetina. When we’re all finished and off the river, a traditional Croatian late lunch will be included.
Private Island Tour: Spend your day cruising around the coastline on a private boat and visiting the island of Brač.
