First we'll head south to Italy’s #1 beach destination, the Amalfi Coast. Boat around the Island of Capri, sip limoncello, and show off your new handmade sandals before breaking out your best dance moves in bustling downtown Sorrento. Bronze in Positano on the black sand beach and cruise along the coast. Finally, explore the ruins of Pompeii while admiring Mt. Vesuvius. Spend the week in Rome and Florence, earn the art of talking with your hands, experience the delight of perfectly cooked pasta and live the passion of Renaissance Art in the home of one of history's most renowned empires. On Thursday we'll head to Prague and step into the pages of a fairy tale in this enchanting city! Wander past pastel buildings in Old Town Square, along the winding river, and up to the hilltop castle. Stroll through bustling Wenceslas Square, leave your name on the colorfully graffitied John Lennon Wall, and dance the night away in Prague’s legendary nightlife. Sunday we'll stop in Munich so you can check out one of Germany's most popular cities. Home to Oktoberfest, we'll see the English Garden, Marienplatz, and of course there's time for a stop at the Hofbrauhaus.

The trip departs Rome from Rome Termini Train Station at 20:00 on Thursday. Travel to the Amalfi Coast is by private, luxury coach bus with A/C, DVD, and bathroom. Upon arrival to the Amalfi Coast, we will immediately check into our accommodation.
Friday morning we depart for the port where we board the ferry and set sail for Capri. Upon arrival, we begin our private island tour. First stop is the Blue Grotto, where you will be transferred directly from our boat into small row boats that will bring you into the grotto (weather permitting). We will then continue around the island to check out more sights finishing at Marina Grande. Your trip leader will then walk you up to Capri Town. Our private transport will then bring us further up to Anacapri, the highest part of the island, where we will be welcomed with a free chocolate and limoncello tasting. You will have the remainder of the afternoon free. We suggest riding the chairlift to the top of Mt. Solaro to get a breathtaking 360 degree view of the island, grabbing a unique pair of custom made sandals, and having a scrumptious lunch at Bus2alps’ favorite place in Anacapri, Le Arcate. You also have the option of checking out the rest of the island or hanging out on the beach down by Marina Grande. The ferry departs from Marina Grande.
Friday night we organize an optional dinner in Sorrento city center, at an excellent restaurant with an extensive menu of local specialties at great prices. Afterwards we can head down to the English Inn, an outdoor beer garden with drinks specials for Bus2alps members.
Saturday morning we depart by private bus to Positano (included). This spectacular, scenic drive hugs the coastline before depositing us in the beachtown of Positano. Once in Positano, your Bus2alps trip leader will point out Vini e Panini for sandwiches, snacks, and drinks, in addition to other good places to eat. You will then have the entire day to relax on the balck sand beach, swim in the sparkling blue waters, and browse the many shops of Positano, known for ceramics and lace! It is also possible to rent a boat, kayaks, or stand-up paddle boards while there. From Positano you can venture further along the coast to the town of Amalfi. Our private bus will take you directly back to our accommodation.
Saturday night you have free to yourself to either kick back at one of the scenic viewpoints at your accommodation or head into Sorrento.
Sunday morning we depart for Pompeii. Bus2alps has an optional 1.5 hour guided tour of the ruins. The guides do an amazing job of painting an excellent picture of life in Pompeii during the Roman era in a fun and relatable way. The guided tour is highly recommended. You can also enter without a guide and see the ruins on your own. There will also be enough time for lunch. We suggest eating at our favorite spot, Pompeii Pizza, for a delicious brick oven cooked pizza at a great price. We depart Pompeii to return to the Rome.
We will start the evening with a ‘Welcome to Italy’ dinner in Rome. Afterwards we will head to Trastevere and Campo de Fiori, two of Rome’s most popular areas for nightlife.
We will start Monday at the Vatican Museum and St. Peter’s Basilica. Afterwards you will then have the chance to go see the Colosseum and the Roman Forum at an optional cost. Then you are free to further explore Rome, the capital of history’s most influential empire. Consult your Bus2alps trip leader for suggestions as to where to go and how to see it. Other sights in Rome include The Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Villa Borghese, and Piazza Navona.
That night you are free to explore the culinary treats Rome has to offer. Ask your Bus2alps Trip Leader for the best recommendations for food and nightlife depending on your taste!
On Tuesday you will have the afternoon to explore Rome. Check out some of the city's famous muesums or ask your Bus2alps trip leader for other suggestions. Tuesday morning is the time to check out any of the sites you missed on Monday.
In the evening we will depart Rome for Florence. After we check into our accommodation there will be an optional family-style dinner at our favorite restaurant Il Gatto e la Volpe. The dinner includes several courses of Tuscan specialties and pastas. Afterwards we will head to one of Florence’s best bars and show you the local nightlife.
In the morning your trip leader will give you a walking tour of Florence. We will see the Duomo, the historic Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi Gallery, Piazza Repubblica, Piazza Signoria, and more! We will finish the tour in Piazza Signoria and your trip leader will direct you to some delicious lunch spots. You will have the rest of the day free to explore more of Florence’s endless beauty. Today you will be able to check out Florence’s great museums and galleries, like the Uffizi, Bargello, Accademia (home of the David), Pitti Palace, Boboli Gardens, and more. Refer to your trip leader for recommendations and how to visit.
On Wednesday evening your trip leader will take you to Piazzale Michelangelo for sunset, which offers the best view of the city, and great gelato.
You will have all morning and afternoon to explore more of Florence's rich history. You can also head to Tuscany to visit the medieval city of Siena, push over the Leaning Tower of Pisa, visit Lucca, or other beautiful cities in the region.
At night the trip departs Florence from the Santa Maria Novella train station. The meeting point is in the International Ticketing Hall opposite tracks 8 and 9. Please meet your trip leader 20 minutes prior to departure. Make sure to bring your passport and have it with you on the bus, as we will be driving through border control. Travel to Prague is by private luxury coach with A/C, DVD, and bathroom. We make one 45 minute stop. Upon arrival to Prague, we will check into our accommodation.
Friday morning, after what some consider the best hostel breakfast in Europe and time to freshen up, we hook up with the best walking tour in the city, Sandemans New Prague Walking Tour. Our 3 hour tour will cover all the main sites and stories of Prague’s fascinating history while we explore Old Town, New Town, and the Jewish Quarter. Remember to tip your guide! The rest of the day is yours to explore Prague at your own pace. Options are endless: shopping sprees, monuments and museums, sipping on the local brew, and heaps more! If you’re looking for a great meal, your trip leader can point you in the direction of some local spots e to try traditional Czech cuisine at a really cheap price.
Friday night we take you out to Lucerna for an 80’s & 90’s pop video dance party. A great atmosphere and cheap drinks, Lucerna is the place to be every Friday night. The venue is packed with Czechs of all ages dancing on the huge dance floor and up on the stage.
Saturday afternoon after the Bus2alps Walking Tour your trip leader will take you to U Fleku, Prague’s most famous beer hall, for a 3 course Czech meal complete with a half liter of U Fleku’s home brewed beer! After lunch, those of you signed up for the New Europe Prague Castle Tour will then head to the Rudolfinum for the tour. Those not signed up for the tour have the afternoon free to explore the rest of Prague. Your trip leader can show you to where you can climb Petrin Hill & Tower for more great views over the city, visit Prague Castle (without the commentary of the New Europe Tour), shop at the Palladium, or pick up souvenirs in Old Town. Saturday night you can sign up for the optional Clock Tower Bar Crawl, the biggest bar crawl in Prague. We skip the tourist traps and hit Prague’s best local bars and clubs, and end up at an underground club.
Sunday morning we depart for Munich. Meet in the hostel lobby.
Upon arrival in Munich we will immediately depart on a bike tour of Munich. We'll stop at the outdoor cafes of the English Inn for lunch, and continue throughout the city learning about the history and local customs. After a few hours of free time to check out your favorite places in Munich, we'll head back to Florence.
