Note: All transportation and accommodation is included in this tour. Please refer to each day to see what additional activities and meals are included and are option.
This tour meets at 9:00am at Meininger’s Hostel / Hotel in Vienna. Please meet you trip leader 20 minutes prior. Once everyone is checked in we will load our private bus and depart for Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Bratislava is approximately a 1 hour drive from Vienna. Your trip leader will provide you all of your trip information en route to Bratislava. Once in Bratislava your trip leader will give you a short tour around the Old Town and to Bratislava Castle. We will then return to our bus and depart for Budapest, the capital of Hungary, and one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. Approximate drive time to Budapest is 6 hours. Upon arrival to Budapest, we will check into our accommodation. This evening we will have a Welcome Dinner Cruise on the Danube River. On the cruise you will get to see both the Buda and Pest sides of the city, the Hungarian Parliament Building, and Castle Hill. After dinner there will be an optional trip to one of Budapest’s many thriving nightlife scenes.

Today we meet at 10:00* for a 3.5 hour walking tour of Budapest with a professional Hungarian guide who grew up in Communist Hungary. Breakfast will be served prior to the walking tour, and until 10:30 on each subsequent day. The walking tour is a great introduction to the city and Magyar history and culture. Major sights on the tour include St. Stephen’s Basilica, the Chain Bridge, Parliament building, Castle Hill/Royal Palace, and the Fisherman’s Bastion. The tour is subject to arrival time and may be switched to Saturday. If it is switched, your trip leader will show those interested to the Great Market Hall or one of the thermal bath houses.
The afternoon is free to explore Budapest and its many activities. Bus2alps recommends going Caving (available Friday only), joining the Communist Walking Tour, or visiting the thermal baths. The Caving tour starts at 15:45. Your trip leader will show you to the Caving meeting point at 15:15. The Communist Walking Tour departs at 15:30 from the same meeting point as the Budapest Walking Tour.
Tonight we will go out for a traditional Hungarian dinner. Meet in reception of our hostel at 21:00. Afterwards, you can join your trip leader to check out some of the great bars and underground clubs that Budapest is known for.

The morning is free to see any sites you did not visit the previous day, including taking a trip to the thermal baths, Heroes Square, and more. Today we will depart Budapest at approximately 2pm, making our way through the Hungarian and Slovakia countryside en route to Krakow, Poland. Krakow is one of Eastern Europe’s most incredible cities, with Europe’s largest market square, incredibly cheap and delicious food, and Europe’s highest concentration of bars (300 located near the town square). Estimated travel time to Krakow is 8 hours. We will arrive in Krakow at approximately 10pm.
Optional: Thermal Baths
This morning we will head out on a walking tour of Krakow at 10:00. The walking tour will explore the home of Pope John Paul II, visiting Europe’s largest market square, Krakow Castle, and other various points. The afternoon is free to visit many of Krakow’s up and coming museums, art galleries, or take a day trip out to the incredible Salt Mines. Tonight there will be an optional group dinner at a local Polish restaurant. Afterwards will be free to check out the night scene, or to wander around the beautiful medieval streets.

We will check out of our accommodation and depart Krakow at 10:00 for Prague. En route to Prague we will make a stop at the concentration camps of Auschwitz and Birkenau. The most known of World War II, we will spend several hours at the site. You will have the option of a guided tour. We will depart Auschwitz-Birkenau at 15:00*. Estimated travel time to Prague is 6 hours**. We will arrive in Prague at approximately 21:00*. After check-in, you will have the option to go out to one of Prague’s raging nightlife spots.

After breakfast and to freshen up, we hook up with the best walking tour in the city, Sandemans New Prague Walking Tour. Our 3-hour tour will cover all the main sites and stories of Prague’s fascinating history while we explore Old Town, New Town, and the Jewish Quarter. The rest of the day is yours to explore Prague at your own pace. Options are endless: shopping sprees, monuments and museums, sipping on the local brew, and heaps more! If you’re looking for a great meal, your trip leader can point you in the direction of the Czech Kitchen, the best place to try traditional Czech cuisine at a really cheap price.
Tonight we take you out for a night on the town with the Clock Tower Bar Crawl, the biggest bar crawl in Prague. We skip the tourist traps and hit Prague’s best local bars and clubs, and end up at an underground club that is open until dawn.

Today your Bus2alps Trip Leader will take you to across the river to Mala Strana and get you up close and personal with Petrin Hill, Prague Castle, and the John Lennon Wall. Petrin Hill and Prague castle boast the best views of the city, and the metaphorical John Lennon Wall is a piece of art in itself, so don’t forget your camera. We will have a guided tour of Prague Castle.
For dinner your trip leader will recommend some tasty places where you can try some traditional Czech cuisine. We meet back in the hostel bar at 22:30 to head out to either Lucerna or Karlovy Lazne. Lucerna is an 80’s/90’s Video Dance Bar/Club with a great atmosphere and cheap drinks. Karlovy Lazne is Prague’s biggest club boasting 5 different floors with a different DJ on each floor. With 10 different bars to choose from, you won’t be left thirsty at Karlovy Lazne.

We depart Prague at 9:00* for Berlin. Estimated travel time is 5 hours**. Approximate arrival time in Berlin is 14:00*. Upon arrival we will check into our accommodation. You will have the afternoon free to check out Museums Island, get a view of the city at the TV Tower, shop at the markets, or explore the city. Sunday night we will organize a Pub Crawl with New Europe at 20:00 for those interested in checking out the eclectic Berlin night scene. If you choose not to join the Pub Crawl, there will be an optional group dinner at Potsdamer Platz.
Optional: Berlin Pub Crawl
Wake up to the city that first divided Europe and then re-united it, Berlin. After breakfast we will depart at 10:30* to see Berlin with the Sandeman’s New Berlin Walking Tour, one of the top walking tours in Europe! The tour lasts for around 3 hours. The tour will take us to Brandenberg Gate, The Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, The Reichstag, Mitte Town, and Museums Island. After, you are free to explore, join a specialized walking or bike tour, or follow your trip leader to the Reichstag or Potsdamer Platz for shopping. There will be an optional, organized group dinner at 19:00. After dinner we will return to our accommodation, grab our luggage and depart for Amsterdam at 22:00*. Estimated drive time is 9 hours**. We will arrive in Amsterdam at 7:00* and check into our accommodation.

In the morning we depart at 10:00* on the Sandeman’s New Amsterdam Bike Tour. The bike tour is the best way to see the city (mostly because Amtserdam is known for their bikes) tour lasts around 3 hours and covers much of the city including the Red Light District, Anne Frank House, and the canals. The walking tour concludes near the Anne Frank. Entry to the Anne Frank House is optional. For those that choose to not enter the Anne Frank House, your trip leader will show you to the Museumsplein where you can visit the Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum, or head for the Heineken experience. Located outside of the Heineken Museum is a pancake house built in an old carousel to cure your munchies. The night is free to explore the various bars, clubs, and shows of Amsterdam.

Today is a free day for you to explore Amsterdam. Amsterdam is rich with museums, boasting the largest volume in Europe. Bus2alps recommends making time to see the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, Anne Frank House, and Heineken Experience, if you have not already done so. There are also varous bike and canal tours for a quicker way to see the city. The night is free to join a pub crawl or explore Amsterdam’s engaging and provocative nightlife.

Today we depart Amsterdam for London. Estimated travel time, including ferry journey, will be approximately 6 hours. After check-in, we depart on the Sandeman’s New London Walking Tour. The tour takes us to the Theater District, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Piccadilly, Buckingham Palace, Green Park and Oxford Street.
Spend today enjoying London’s ‘The Original Tour’. This 24 hour ferry and bus ticket allows you to see all of London’s sights including Trafalgar Square, Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Westminister Abbey, Houses of Parliament, St Pauls Cathedral, Tower Bridge, London Eye, Harrod’s, The Thames River and Greenwich. It is a hop on/hop off ticket with buses every 10 minutes with a humorous local guide to point out historical details. We will have our farewell dinner tonight at a traditional English Pub and scout out some football hooligans.
